Man stoned to death

MASERU – A Quthing man, who allegedly stoned a rival to death at Sea-Point last week, briefly appeared before the Maseru Magistrate’s Court yesterday, (Monday) on murder charges.

Twenty-nine-year-old Lekhari Monoane of Alwayn Skop, currently residing at Moshoeshoe II was remanded in custody, pending a bail application in the High Court of Lesotho.

The court advised him of his right to a legal representative before postponing the matter to September 20.

Evidence led in court alleges Monoane struck the now deceased Khauhelo Mahlahlane with stones before killing him instantly at the Sky Flyers Bar located at Sea-Point last Friday.

Further details are expected to be laid down on trial date yet to be scheduled by the court.

Magistrate Senekale Qobolo presides, while ‘Mamongonyo Baasi-Pitso prosecutes.
