Maseru -The South African government has deployed additional personnel at the Maseru Border gate to expedite the process of people crossing between South Africa and Lesotho. According to the SA port manager Thabo Nkhoma, the number of additional staff is more than enough to regulate the heavy traffic that is synonymous with the festive season.
“We expect the busiest days to be December 12 – 15 and December 21- 24 and January 2 -4. The additional staff has in place since Saturday and will remain operational until the second week of January,” Nkhoma told Public Eye Online yesterday. The target he said is to serve at least 1 500 people crossing the border per hour as opposed to the current 800.
